Fortem Technologies Wins AUVSI XCELLENCE Award

Fortem DroneHunter recognized in the Counter UAS & Security category

ARLINGTON - May 04, 2018 --

Fortem Technologies, Inc., an innovator in airspace awareness and intelligence, has won an XCELLENCE Award from the Association for Unmanned Vehicles Systems International (AUVSI) for its leadership in counter UAS and airspace security. This recognition further establishes Fortem’s DroneHunter™ product as the top drone-to-drone counter UAS technology in the industry. Winners were announced at AUVSI XPONENTIAL on Tuesday, May 1, at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.

Fortem Technologies delivers innovative solutions to enable safe autonomous airborne operations. The Fortem DroneHunter is a fully autonomous BVLOS hunter drone, guided by the long range onboard TrueView™ radar system—fused with other sensors—to safely remove any drone from a no-fly zone without risk to civilians. TrueView radar is the world’s most compact, high-performance radar system for detecting airborne objects, providing a revolutionary safety capability for unmanned and manned aircraft. The Fortem TrueView radar system is small enough to be deployed on an aircraft to allow customers to build intrinsically safe air taxis and helicopters, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles that can operate autonomously beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).

“The unmanned systems industry is innovating at an incredible rate and creating tremendous benefits for our economy, lifestyle, and society,” said Brian Wynne, president and CEO of AUVSI. “The AUVSI XCELLENCE Awards recognize the companies and individuals who are propelling the industry into the future.”

“We are thrilled to receive this award from AUVSI in the Counter UAS & Security category for our autonomous DroneHunter,” said Fortem Technologies CEO Tim Bean. “We’re on a mission to develop technology that will help keep airspaces safe as we approach a drone-enabled world, and this award validates our efforts in doing just that.”

The AUVSI XCELLENCE Awards honor innovators in the unmanned systems industry, including individuals and organizations, with a demonstrated commitment to advancing technology, leading and promoting safe operations, and developing programs that use unmanned systems to improve the human condition. XPONENTIAL offers a broad-based and balanced educational program brimming with cutting-edge content and inspirational insights, ranging from policy implications and technical challenges to use cases and best practices across vertical markets and everything in between.
