UPS tries to become the first drone delivery company

UPS is in the process of becoming the first commercial delivery company to use autonomous drones to deliver. The approval by the Federal Aviation Administration could be happening this year, allowing UPS to operate drones to deliver medical, commercial and industrial customers. It is still unknown when this service will be available to regular consumers. UPS has already started trial testing delivery drones with hospitals in North Carolina, delivering blood and other medical samples. Though autonomous, there will be safety pilots to oversee all flights and ensure safety.  Read more on wired.com→
